As Thyroid Awareness Month comes to a close, I think about what Hypothyroidism means to me. It seems unreal that almost 7 years has passed since I got diagnosed. I have made a pact (not a resolution) with myself that this year will be different for me. I had a realization in October 2011 that I am just coming to terms with and will describe it for you here later. But I am taking 2012 by the horns. We have good things coming up this year and I can’t wait. It is time to start making plans!

I have plans to do a podcast coming up explaining all of this as well as a letter for Dear Thyroid.

I know I know! It has been forever since I posted anything! I hope to post more in 2012 – but I probably said that last year as well. I have been a bit shy on the podcasting too. I hope to do one soon! To give you a brief update – things are going well and I feel really good. I had some bumps in the road but I have recovered nicely and will explain all in an upcoming podcast. I am adding some photo’s I took during my photography class this past fall. It was one of the things I chose to do to better myself in 2011.

Hashimoto’s has a great way of bringing people together. Some can read that statement as sarcasm if they want. But it actually is true. I got a wonderful comment from the  Carey Family Website.  They do a cool segment called “Pay it Forward.” She is suffering from Hashimoto’s like most of us are and decided to do a Pay it forward for me! Here is the segment she wrote on Hypogirl, Dear Thyroid and I am the Face of Thyroid disease. That’s when we did video’s during thyroid awareness month. Such a great idea! I have gone back to the Carey Website to read up on the other Pay it Forwards because it helps remind me that we need to stand by each other and help when we can. Thanks Carey for sharing your knowledge of great resources! I love the website!

Don’t worry – no babies were hurt in the taking of that photo. My niece used to pull that chair on herself and giggle. Had to save a memory of it by snapping a picture. But, we’d always help her up. :-)

My podcast on RAI is now up! Hubby has shown me how to do this now so in the future I can do it all by myself. I am so growing up! ;-)

Movie Monday quote is “Tina come get some ham!” I absolutely love this movie! I repeat watch it it is that good!

Oh I forgot – hubby was sawing wood. NO not sleeping. He was sawing wood in the garage during the podcast. Well, composite wood to be exact. He was rebuilding our deck. Sorry for the noise!

Hubby and I are going to have to start eating like college students again. I just checked our budget numbers for our Groceries for the month of May!

It is through the roof! I am surprised we are not living on the street yet.

We do eat 80% organic though – we feel it is better for us. We also shop each week for our groceries. I need to get a better handle on that and make sure that we don’t overspend this month.

I need a fainting couch.

Hopefully this month will be better.

Or we can make it up once the garden starts producing – oh, yea, I still have to plant that…
