I had a hard time trying to come up with an appropriate title for this blog post, thus the “enter title here” as the, for lack of a better term, title. The picture is also from a trip to Vegas in 2006, where my hubby faced his uneasiness of high altitudes. My sister loves these types of rides and begged him to join her. BTW, that’s them both in the front seat and the only ones on the ride!

The weather was quiet warm today so we took a long walk today and it felt great to get outside. I was starting to suffer from Cabin Fever, so it was nice to get outside.

I get very jealous of my cats some days. They get to sit in the sun all day and not have any worries about anything. The sun’s rays warm them up as they take cat naps all day. I tired to reason with them to get jobs, but all they so is turn  around and ask me to feed them. They just don’t get it.

I still haven’t found time to create a new podcast. But I have a ton of new ideas for vlogs! I am thinking of creating a Hypogirl Youtube channel so I can rant all I want on there. What do you think?

It has been along couple of weeks with creating and teaching the administrative professionals class. I am also excited for spring to start soon. I simply love warmer weather and can’t wait to get a more natural form of Vitamin D.

So, today is the 2 week of me and my friend Gayle teaching our Administrative Class. I am still scared to speak in front of people but I am slowly getting over that fear. I also like compiling information for others and sharing. It it turning out better than I expected. It is a lot of work and gives me something to do. It is a twelve week course and it meets weekly.

I have always felt that being Hypothyroid would stop me from doing these fun things. But I made a conscience decision to not let it interfere.

I have been doing well on the weight loss aspect of the disease and have also decided to go back to my once a day gym visit. I am however, going to take it slow and not rush anything. I have come to realize weight loss is not going to happen overnight. As of the 2nd week in December I have lost 4 pounds. It’s a start. If it takes me two or more years, that is ok with me.

The year is moving so fast! We are already into February!  We have had such a mild winter this year and currently have no snow on the ground and temps in the 40′s.

I have been struggling this year already and I hope that the rest of the year isn’t going to be like this. I hope to do a podcast soon with my story. I know I have been saying that a lot. I am terrible at updating this website and doing podcasts. I hope to get better in the coming year. Both and updates and thyroid wise.

I am teaching an administrative assistant class that starts tomorrow and I am a bit nervous. I am sure after the first class I will be fine. This is part of my initiative last year to get more involved in things. I am heavily involved in my IAAP chapter and am serving on the board as Treasurer. Next year they want me to run for President Elect. Which means for 2014 I will be President of the Chapter! I can’t wait.

As Thyroid Awareness Month comes to a close, I think about what Hypothyroidism means to me. It seems unreal that almost 7 years has passed since I got diagnosed. I have made a pact (not a resolution) with myself that this year will be different for me. I had a realization in October 2011 that I am just coming to terms with and will describe it for you here later. But I am taking 2012 by the horns. We have good things coming up this year and I can’t wait. It is time to start making plans!

I have plans to do a podcast coming up explaining all of this as well as a letter for Dear Thyroid.

I know I know! It has been forever since I posted anything! I hope to post more in 2012 – but I probably said that last year as well. I have been a bit shy on the podcasting too. I hope to do one soon! To give you a brief update – things are going well and I feel really good. I had some bumps in the road but I have recovered nicely and will explain all in an upcoming podcast. I am adding some photo’s I took during my photography class this past fall. It was one of the things I chose to do to better myself in 2011.
