Flap away crane – flap away.

22 Jul

This past weekend we heard a good friend of ours and a member of the Comedy Troupe Flapping Crane had passed away. Eric Page was a brilliantly funny local comedian that could make a crowd of people laugh by showing up. It has taken me a few days to process and think about what I could tell you about Eric. But unfortunately, none of it would do him justice. My girlfriend says it best in her Blog:

“In person, Eric was actually pretty reserved. He had short, curly hair and was somewhat shy until you got a few drinks in him. But put him in front of a camera, and he stole the show.”

“Eric was the cause of many extra takes on Flapping Crane skits, simply because he was so funny the other boys still cracked up, even when they weren’t looking at him.”

It was very rare for the other members of Flapping Crane to get Eric to crack up on set. They only managed to do it a few times; those moments now mean the world to all of them. We spent time last night reviewing old footage of skits and outtakes of the Flapping Crane troupe for a memorial they are putting together. We laughed A LOT. We reminisced. We laughed again.
If you would like to get to know Eric, like we knew Eric, please check out anything below.

Best of all, he was a cat lover. Um– didn’t say that right – He was a lover of Cats??

Eric – May you soar higher than an eagle. We will miss you.
